I teach plant biotechnology and microbiology courses at postgraduate level. My pioneering biocontrol work was recognized as technology transfer for economic development by the World Bank. Diagnostic PCR tool for rice pathogen, molecular diversity of rhizobacteria, Genbank deposits, genome announcements and antimicrobial PR proteins were reported to strengthen the strategies for sustainable agriculture. A novel dimeric form of phenazine (USA patent#10/888,789,008) and other new derivatives of phenazines, polyketides and peptides were identified as potent bioactive molecules. My group developed green biological methods using biological entities for biogenic nanoparticles, nanocomposites and nanocrystallites that exhibit potential for agricultural, industrial and biomedical applications.
