School of Life Sciences
About the School
The School of Life Sciences was established in 2004 and comprises of six departments and one center: Dept. Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Dept. Biotechnology, Dept. Ecology & Environmental Sciences, Dept. Ocean Studies and Marine Biology, Dept. Food Science and Technology, Dept. Microbiology and Centre for Bio informatics. Department of Food Science and Technology has been started in the academic year 2010. A PG Diploma in Food Safety and Quality Control is also offered since the academic year 2012.
Department of Microbiology has been started in the academic year 2012. An Inter-University teaching program in Computational Biology has been started in the academic year 2010. The Inter-University teaching program in Computational Biology is upgraded to M.Tech in Computational Biology with the academic year 2014.
Ph.D. Program is offered by all the disciplines under the School of Life Sciences. There are a total of 61 faculty in the School of Life Sciences. Prof. Anisa Basheer Khan is the Dean School of Life Sciences.
